Ohaeawai School
KaikoheThe school’s disused back field was transformed into a space for pupils to play under the trees.
Large amounts of native shrubs were added to an existing bush area creating a trail for students to explore the area. The new space will attract birds, including the Northland native bird and the Kukupa – the School’s representative symbol.
Being an Enviroschool, it had already achieved many practical, outdoor projects, including a recycling depot, worm farm and a vegetable garden.
