Leithfield School’s makeover – the largest for 2017 – was five times the size of any of the other winning schools and included transforming the banks and surrounding area of the school into a new outdoor learning space. Over 1200 natives were planted, along with garden beds, a community orchard, an outdoor classroom and a ‘trees of the world’ area.

Thanks to the efforts of the school and local community, the children now have an area where they can explore and learn about the natural environment and local ecosystem.
