Argyll East School

Argyll East School restored the banks of the Mangoatai Stream which runs alongside their school with the planting of 1300 native trees. Pathways were constructed to lead to a specially designed eeling pontoon and viewing platform. Finishing touches included a fence made from palings which the children individually decorated as part of an art project and introducing insects to the newly mulched garden.

The school and local community worked tirelessly in the months leading up to the makeover to improve the outdoor area. The now developed banks of the Mangoatai Stream will provide a great educational resource for students, giving them the ability to immerse themselves in nature during class and play time.
